RP women’s team takes on China today

The toughness of Discovery Suites-RP women’s team will be put to a big test today when it faces a visiting team from China in a goodwill match in the Women’s Philippine Basketball League (WPBL) at the Lyceum gym.

The Nationals, who have won their previous three games in the ongoing tournament of the only women’s league in the country, clash with Fujian team at 3:45 p.m.

RP coach Heidi Ong said their showdown with the Chinese is a much-needed exposure to her players since they are preparing for various tournaments abroad, including the SEA Games in Laos next year.

Meantime, Sheila Romero’s Oracle Residences guns for its second straight win against Nutri-C-Ateneo at 11:45 a.m. while Muscle Tape-Lyceum and Mail & More of Bert Lina clash at 10 a.m. with both teams out to barge into the win column after dropping their first two games.

Equally interesting is the match between sister teams – La Salle and College of St. Benilde – at 2 p.m.

Backed by Sunkist of RFM, La Salle enjoys a slight edge over the Oracare-backed CSB cagers.
